Teaching Plan
An effectively structured curriculum offers educators clear direction on the subjects to address, the order in which to teach them, and methods for evaluating student advancement, thereby ensuring a cohesive and efficient learning journey.
It is a crucial tool for achieving educational goals, promoting equity, and fostering innovation in teaching and learning.
It’s important to remember that English is a foreign language in Vietnam. That means that we had to be meticulous in crafting our lesson plans and instructional methods.
Making the lesson plans was the most challenging feat due to the tight time-frame between the observation day and our teaching demonstrations. We had our class observation on September 6th and the day after that, straight into teaching we went!

Thankfully, our two guiding figures were there: Miss Cao Nguyen, our supervisor from Dong Thap University and Miss Ana Rea Lagrosa, our cooperating teaching from Future School. It so happened that Miss Ana also a Pinoy or Filipino which sparked an instant connection that facilitated a seamless communication between us.

Miss Cao effectively outlined the lesson plan structure and provided clear expectations for our instruction. Additionally, she generously shared a variety of in-class activities for us to engage in during the lessons.

We visited Miss Ana's place and she was very gracious in handing out points on how we should demonstrate our lessons according to the type of students we will be teaching. She shared that:
-
Activities should be instructed as simple and easy as possible.
-
Speak slowly. (This was a challenge since I’m used to speaking on a fast pace!)
3. Focus more on the learning process rather than the product or outcome.

So even with little time, I was able to create 4 lesson plans. Rest assured that these received formal approval by my Cooperating Teacher.
