1. Teaching methods of the teacher that I observed
It was with impeccable timing that we had our class observation on the first day of class. I was placed in class 7E with Teacher Marcello who teaches English. During instruction, he employed a musical instrument-- specifically a guitar.
The students were able to catch up on the lesson with ease due to the integration of said instrument. From my perspective as an aspiring teacher, Teacher Marcello’s teaching method and approach had a warm effect to the students and it ensured that the topic was well-received and retained by them. Five stars!
2. Their learning materials and innovation
The school has a library where students can access various learning materials at any time. They also have sufficient numbers of technological devices such as LCD that can be connected with a laptop or even a mobile phone. It comes with a speaker that is audible enough to be used during classes.
Furthermore, in their pursuit to technological development, Future School is equipped with a state-of-the-art computer laboratory dedicated to fostering students' proficiency in both fundamental and advanced technology navigation.
Still, despite the prominent use of technology, each student also utilizes notebooks for writing activities or lessons. This practice is implemented with the specific aim of enhancing the emphasis on the development of the writing macro skill.

3. Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers
During Teacher Marcello’s class, he used an LCD and exhibited a PowerPoint presentation through his phone. It was only the first day of class so the primary objective centered around introduction and getting to know each other.
Teacher Marcello took the lead in singing and strumming his guitar while the students showed solid enthusiasm in their engagement making the activity fun and in perfect harmony.
That observation in class 7E established a solid first impression for me. I realized that there are heaps of ways to bridge teaching and learning. As demonstrated by Teacher Marcello, music is a bridge that can melodiously connect the realms of knowledge.

4. Authentic assessment used by the teacher
During the class, authentic assessment took form in the students taking turns in introducing themselves (name, age, and hobby). Initially, they displayed some hesitance when it came to expressing themselves in the English language, but Teacher Marcello was very helpful along the way and made sure that errors were correctly with a gentle and positive touch.
Everyone pulled through and although I was a mere bystander, I felt appreciative to the students for speaking up and that way, I got to know them.

Some other fun first impressions!
I am used to the traditional classroom structure in the Philippines, and since it was only my first time observing a class in Vietnam, I took deliberate care and made sure to be mindful of the gaps in different aspects. Here is one observation:
In terms of the students, I realized that there will always be a pool of diverse personalities. I shall never forget Quin, with his sly quirkiness. Fernando, with his fast wit during recitations (He was always the first to show hands). Tom and Jerry, both of whom had charming shyness despite being taller than me.
There are a lot of them who stuck to me and I shall always remember their positive energy!
